Policy file electricity from water
EWA makes the potential of energy from water visible to politics. EWA influences legislation, regulations, financing, subsidies and (government) policy. Together with ... we submitted three motions in 2021 with results!
The adopted motions provide support for filling knowledge gaps, a broad research programme and for large-scale demonstration projects and research into the validation of Dynamic Tidal Power energy dams.
Motions in the House of Representatives
On July 8, 2021, just before the summer recess, the House of Representatives adopted three motions on energy from water. That is fantastic news for the sector! Thanks for the efforts of many, not least for DMEC and the spokespersons of the various factions (GL, CDA, SGP and CU), but also the provinces of Zeeland and Gelderland and the EWA board.

In the run-up to the debate, EWA has coordinated the response with the Dutch Marine Energy Centre (DMEC), the provinces of Gelderland, and the province of Zeeland, which together with the province of South Holland, the municipalities of Schouwen-Duivenland and Goeree-Overflakkee, also submitted their own response prior to the debate. Furthermore, discussions were held with the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy, TNO, the European Commission and spokespersons of the House of Representatives.

Video 2: What came before this.
On June 10, 2021, the House of Representatives letter on electricity from water (hereinafter abbreviated as EuW) was discussed during the Energy and Climate committee debate .
Here is a compilation of fragments in which spokespeople highlight the subject.
